Louis Allen Miller, Sr. was born on October 31, 1952 to John and Muriel Miller and was raised in Kinloch, Missouri. He was baptized, received his first communion and confirmed at Holy Angels Catholic Church and remained until his death, a man of great faith. He attended and graduated from Holy Angels Catholic Grade School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Florissant Valley Community College. Louis was a fire fighter who began as a volunteer CD (Civil Defense) fireman as a teenager in the Kinloch Fire Protection District and began his professional career there at age 21. He soon moved to the Robertson Fire Protection District where he served as Fireman, Paramedic, Engineer (driver), shop steward and eventually earned the rank of Captain before he retired after 30+ years of service. During that time he continued also volunteering at the Kinloch FPD and eventually became the City’s Fire Chief. Louis was an avid athlete, an outdoorsman and Louis was a big brother to many. He possessed natural and charismatic leadership qualities that made him very well-liked. He was a very kind and giving individual who loved his family and his city (Kinloch). As a student he played baseball on the Kinloch Bullets team; played baseball and football for St. Thomas Aquinas his high school team. As an adult he played softball on various teams in Kinloch and Robertson. He also coached Junior Football League teams. As an outdoorsman whose real passion was fishing, he could frequently be found fishing especially on the Missouri River. At age 11 he joined Kinloch’s Boy Scout Troop 184 where he was awarded the Order of the Arrow in 1966 for his outstanding leadership qualities. Eventually he became the troop’s Assistant Scout Master. Louis possessed a unique charisma and natural leadership qualities that made him very well-liked. He was a very kind and giving individual who loved his family and his city (Kinloch). He was a husband, a father, a grand-father, a son, a brother, a nephew, a cousin and a good friend to many. Louis was preceded in death by his father John A. Miller, Jr. and older brothers Gordon and John III. He leaves behind: a wife ~ Christy; daughters ~ Tandra and Terica; chosen daughters ~ Whitley and Sydnee; sons ~ Louis Jr., Adrian, Lance, Christopher; chosen son ~ Christopher; 14 Grand-children; 1 Great Grandchild. He also leaves behind his mother ~ Muriel Miller; his sister ~ Sarah Miller; brothers ~ Michael S. Miller (Gayle), Kenneth (Joey) Miller (Leetanya) and Thomas (Marty) Miller (Twinda); mother-in-law ~ Kay Murchinson; sister-in-laws ~ Angela Washington and Syreeta Jackson; aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of dear friends.
